I'm really hitting a wall here, man! Ya see, I'm working on a set of original comic book characters of my own, right?! But the dilemma I keep coming across is varying their shapes (like their head and body shapes and what not) but still maintain a consistency in style. Like when you draw your different characters, somehow we can tell their YOUR characters! But when I attempt to do my characters and try to vary their profiles, it's like they come from different universes. I mean like one can look like a character from Dexter's Lab and another from a cartoon as different as DBZ (okay not THAT different but the point still stands). So I'm asking you for advice on how exactly you get your characters to look different from each other but still make it look like they belong in the same universe?

Well i can't give you any specific advice for this, i suffered the same in my begginings, i think that the only thing is to create a clear image for the look and the genre, but when we don't have a solid style it's difficult, but that's normal, my advice would be to have patience, take a little break and listen to music and chill out, then retake with a more fresh state of mind, hope this helps you.
